About

Meet the Therapist

My name is Lismerys and I’d love to help you on your healing journey. There is nothing more frustrating than wanting to change and not seeing that change happen. We get sick and tired of being stuck in the same loops. This is my passion: helping you achieve your goals and break free from those cycles. I earned my master’s degree in clinical social work and trauma-informed care from Barry University. For the last decade, I have focused on assisting clients in connecting with their innermost authentic selves, healing from trauma, establishing boundaries, and creating new, healthier cycles for their lives. I am currently accepting new clients via telehealth only. I create a warm, honest, and supportive environment. The staples of my practice include evidence-based therapeutic interventions, authentic rapport, and ensuring that you're actively progressing toward your goals. I can conduct sessions in English, Spanish, or, as my South Florida patients prefer, 'Spanglish.' Each of my clients has a dedicated client portal where they can schedule or reschedule sessions and contact me between appointments. I also offer a consultation to answer any questions before beginning sessions. The best way to reach me is via email or through the client portal. I am always learning and growing as a therapist. I have experience serving individuals in various settings, including community and hospital environments, before transitioning to private practice. I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Parent-Child Attachment models. Additionally, I specialize in working with individuals with ADHD, Autism, and hearing loss. I am also a fellow of the University of Miami's LEND program and the Emerging Transformational Leadership Program, both focused on community leadership and improving care for those with unique health care needs.
